Midwifery practice is a health service provided to the childbearing families. The discipline aims ensure best possible well-being of child-bearing women and their families lower maternal, perinatal, neonatal morbidities mortalities. It has existed as long human existence. In old days, elderly were key players in provision care during pregnancy, labour, childbirth postpartum. They no formal training, instead practices based on experience orientation cultural practice. history midwifery follows: 1. Informal training midwives 2. Regulations 3. Scope 4. Successes challenges faced by identified Increasing maternal mortality ratio Shortage resources.3. Lack professional association Professional restrictions midwives’ private Implications for practice: This calls Paucity research related Review policy midwives.
